"A great church is one that makes a difference in it's community no matter what its size" ~Dan Reiland

Acts 20:25 NLT - And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus:
'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Holt Community Easter Egg Hunt:  Holt Naz partnering with the Holt Kiwanis Club has stuffed over 4,600 eggs, provided special treats, and helped with hiding the eggs, as well as provided a photographer for pictures with the "Easter Bunny."  Over 600 Kids from around the community hunt at the annual Holt Community Easter Egg Hunt which is organized by the Holt Kiwanis Club and takes place at Valhalla Park in Holt, Michigan the Saturday prior to Easter.

Holt Community Food Bank:  Holt Naz is involved in the Holt Community Food Bank which services approximately 160 families per month.  Members serve in a variety of ways from collecting turkeys, hams, and other food as directed for the Holiday distributions at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to hands on service at the distribution; filling baskets, making calls about pick up, taking the clients groceries to their car, and cleaning up after distribution hours.  Others help with pre-distribution food pick up by loading trucks at the warehouse or the suppliers.  Still others help with set up for the distribution. Some members have helped fill commodity boxes at the USDA Commodities Warehouse.  In addition, we have members of Holt Naz who serve on a consistent basis by helping with the weekly distribution and stocking the food pantry shelves.

Holt Community National Night Out:  Members of Holt Naz have for the past three years, been asked to assist the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department at their National Night Out event.   A safe community is a healthy community—that's why National Night Out inspires citizens to get behind crime prevention. This event is to raise community awareness of the neighborhood watch program, and provide the community an opportunity to meet our law enforcement personnel.  Holt Naz members have served at this event as they popped pop-corn, served snow cones, registered bicycles, and assisted parents in filling out a child safety kit with fingerprints of their children that they can take home for safe keeping as well as interact with children at the game area.

Holt Community Give a Kid a Christmas:  Each year Holt Naz receives the names of families who need a little help in providing Christmas for the children from Holt Community’s Give a Kid a Christmas. Tags displaying Toys and clothing items are placed on a giving tree in the foyer sometime right before Thanksgiving.  Members take a tag with an item on it, and leave a duplicate tag with their name on it on the tree.  They then purchase the item on the tag and bring it unwrapped and place it under the tree. These are taken to the Holt Community Give a Kid a Christmas warehouse where they are distributed.

Dollar Sunday:  The first Sunday of each month, we collect a special offering that is placed in a benevolence Fund.  The definition of benevolence is -( be·nev·o·lence (b -n v -l ns). n. 1. An inclination to perform kind, charitable acts. 2. a. A kindly act. b. A gift given out of generosity.)- these funds are used to provide help to those both outside of our Holt Naz family and those within our family as need arises.  Funds have been used to help with gas, pay rent, buy license tags, and buy groceries, Everyone, including children are encouraged to bring a dollar (anyone can give more if they are led).  Traditionally the offering is taken by children, and it is always a pleasure to watch our Holt Naz members give with such joy, knowing that they are being the hands and feed of Jesus as they give.
